Hey there. Happy new year.
As an officially inducted brother of the Order of Grumpy Bastards, I have a confession: There *are* some PR/journalism/marketing communications things I’m really excited about for 2023.
Here goes:
AI Assistants as digital scratchboards. I’m a bit of an AI optimist. I think that if the current iteration of ChatGPT is here for our jobs, it’s so bad at what it does that we’re all fucked. But I do think that ChatGPT, Jasper, DALL-E, Midjourney and all their competitors are really good for quickly creating mockups of different ideas or iterations of the same project. And that’s what I’m really excited about.
Except for the fact that AI assistants will steal all the entry level job duties of things like transcribing audio or writing short listicles. That genuinely sucks.Twitter diaspora starting.
