It’s been a week, huh?
Bye bye NBA, bye bye March Madness, bye bye NHL, bye bye Disneyland.
Things in the United States have gone wacky, and I suspect things will remain wacky (for lack of a better word) for quite some time. So, if you can, help out your older and immunocompromised friends and family members. Strange times etc.
I just finished two weeks onsite at Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center as a Fellow in the Assembly:Disinformation program. I’m working with 16 other Fellows on developing innovative tools for combatting online disinformation and misinformation.
Things there are still in progress—working on a cool project, managing outcomes when everything is switching to remote work, etc.—so I’ll discuss this more in-depth later.
But first, a few quick notes:
Spending two weeks studying online disinformation (mainly in the political sphere, but also elsewhere) was REALLY GOOD PREP for nine more months of 2020.
One of my biggest takeaways is how combatting disinformation online seems easy…
